1892 Alphons Thommen founds a factory to make clock and watch parts.  
   
1900 Company purchased by Alphons Tschudin and Fritz Heid. The Tschudin+Heid partnership is formed. Manufacturing of clock and watch components as well as simple turned parts such as screws, nuts, pins, etc.
   
1931 Founding of the Tschudin+Heid Aktiengesellschaft.
   
1935 Following the death of the surviving founder, Fritz Heid, Reinhard Straumann-Heid becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors, also acquiring the shares of the deceased co-founder Alphons Tschudin. In the following years, the machinery is modernized.
   
1945 Acquisition of J.J. Buser AG in Basel, plastic parts molding plant and production of electronic devices.
   
1957
Construction of the Bretzwil plant for manufacturing precision turned parts.
   
1959 Dr. Kurt Schmid-Straumann becomes CEO and takes over management of the company. Expansion of the pneumatics/automation department at the Waldenburg plant.
   
1965
Development and start of production of electronic control and communications equipment in Reinach.
   
1967 Following the death of Professor Reinhard Straumann-Heid, Dr. Kurt Schmid-Straumann becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors.  
   
1970 Acquisition of Decomer AG in Allschwil, manufacturing operation supplemented by turning capabilities.
   
1977 Founding of th france sarl in St. Dié, France. Manufacturing and sale of push buttons and automation components.  
   
1979 Acquisition and majority stake in EHB Basel, trading and manufacturing of electrical equipment for industrial and commercial applications. Headquarters moved to Reinach.  
   
1982 Kurt J. Schmid und Peter Schmid are appointed to head the company, thus transferring responsibility for managing the family-owned business to the fourth generation. The plants in Waldenburg, Reinach and Bretzwil are expanded in various stages and the production machinery is continually modernized.  
   
1989 Implementation of TQS (Total Quality Strategy) and expansion of the comprehensive TH quality assurance system.
   
1992
Tschudin+Heid AG is the first Swiss manufacturer of turned parts to be named a "Certified Supplier" by the multinational Rank Xerox group.
   
1993 EN ISO 9001 certification by TÜV CERT (Technischer Überwachungsverein, Germany).
   
1996 Establishment of TH Holding AG.  
   
2002 The Decomer AG manufacturing operations are integrated into Tschudin+Heid AG Waldenburg and Bretzwil.
The switch line of th-contact ag in Reinach is sold to Saia-Burgess Gateshead, UK. The fifth generation of the family – Tobias Schmid (Production) is now in leading managerial positions.
   
2003 Tschudin+Heid AG is spun off from TH-Holding AG and continues to operate as an independent limited company. Kurt J. Schmid and Dieter Schmid retire from the Board of Directors. The company is strategically reorganized and Bretzwil is expanded into a highly qualified facility for manufacturing medical technology products. The shareholder structure changes, with Peter Schmid taking over as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Dr. h.c. Thomas Straumann as Deputy Chairman.
 
   
2005 Peter Schmid transfers the responsibility for the management to Martin Iseli, who becomes CEO.
 
   
2010 Peter Schmid transfers the responsibility for the Board to Willi Miesch, who becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors.
